While the availability of water in Bhutan is the highest in the region with 𝟗𝟒,𝟓𝟎𝟑 cubic meters per person annually, access to water resources still remains an issue. The highly dispersed nature of settlements and the low population densities make the per capita cost of delivering water services very high—many farmlands are located far away from the rivers hindering irrigation.
